Effect of Amphipods (Grandierella megnae) Density on the Growth and Survival Rate of Mangrove Crab (Scylla tranquebarica)

This study aims to determine the effect of amphipod density on growth, survival and molting mangrove crabs (Scylla tranquebarica).The research was conducted in Installation Tiger Shrimp Hatchery (ITSH), located Lawallu Village, Soppeng Riaja District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, from May June 2022. There 45 crabs, with an average weight 0.04 ± 0.005 g a carapace width 5.4 0.1 mm which were obtained local hatcheries. The maintenance container is glass jar containing 0.5 liters water, each filled one crablet. treatments tested differences amphipods density, namely: A) 20 ind/0.5 L, B) 30 C) 40 feeding frequency once day for first 10 days twice at 8:00 AM 5:00 PM next days. Parameters observed growth (GW) (GC), specific rate-weight (SGR-W) carapace- (SGR-C), rate (SR) number (NM). Using completely randomized design three replications, replication consisted 5 crabs.
